Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Applied Computing (CAC) at Kennesaw State University (KSU) is to offer a venue in which faculty and students work on applied research and development projects addressing the computing challenges that government, industry, and local communities face while developing the much-needed workforce.

CAC aims to foster a culture of innovation by performing applied research and pilot development designed to enhance the computing capabilities of its industrial, community, and government partners. The research and development activities are profoundly supported by the tremendous intellectual pool of faculty and students in the College of Computing and Software Engineering (CCSE) at Kennesaw State University. The expertise areas include AI and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Networking, Computer Vision and Graphics, Metaverse, Game Design, IoT, Software Quality Assurance and Reliability, Bioinformatics, Smart and Connected Health, Quantum Computing, to name a few.

  1. Conduct applied research and development in computing.
    • CAC will equip, promote and help faculty to develop grants and seek sponsorship to support their research agendas.

  2. Collaborate with corporate and educational partners through research and consulting projects.
    • CAC will actively seek partners with whom we can apply our faculty expertise to practical applications that solve real-world computing problems. These projects form the foundation with which the center is sustained and realizes much of its mission.

  3. Expand the visibility of KSU and the University System of Georgia (USG) in applied computing.
