Dr. Sumanth Yenduri Named Interim Dean for College of Computing and Software Engineering

Provost Kathy Schwaig has named Dr. Sumanth Yenduri, current Chair of the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development, to be the next Interim Dean for the College of Computing and Software Engineering.

Dr. Yenduri has been with Kennesaw State University as Department Chair of SWEGD since July of 2019, where the Department of over 980 Students and 30 Faculty has thrived under his leadership. Prior to joining KSU, Dr. Yenduri was the Chair of Computer Science at Southeast Missouri State University. He served as faculty and in other roles at Columbus State University, and The University of Southern Mississippi as well. His research interests include Software Process Development, Programming Language Paradigms, Data Imputation Methods, Software Tools/Simulation, and Sensor Networks. Dr. Yenduri is a prolific writer, having published more than 50 articles in various journals/conferences, and over $1.0 million dollars in funding.

Dr. Jeff Chastine, who has served as Interim Dean since January, said of Dr. Yenduri, “I’m extremely excited that Dr. Yenduri has been asked to serve as CCSE’s Interim Dean. I’ve worked closely with him over the last few years and am thankful that he is willing to step into the role. He is a proven leader and is representative of the caliber of leadership that we try to recruit and retain at Kennesaw State University.”

In a memo to CCSE faculty, Dr. Yenduri wrote, “I have thoroughly enjoyed working in CCSE for the past two years. I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to working with all Faculty and Staff.”

Dr. Yenduri has selected Dr. Chi Zhang, Professor of Information Technology, to serve as Interim Department Chair for SWEGD.
