Your Degree Program

The structure of the BASIT degree follows that of a regular University System of Georgia degree.  It consists of 60 semester hours of core curriculum courses, divided over 6 areas (see below), and an additional 60 semester hours of advanced coursework in IT.  In general, you will take about half the courses at a Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) institution and the other half at KSU.  While all students will take the same courses at KSU, the TCSG courses you can count towards your BASIT depend on your AAS degree.  At the moment, you can transfer into the BASIT degree with automatic acceptance if you have a GPA of 2.3 or above and an AAS in:

Students who have an Associate of Applied Science in a computing field not on the above list with a GPA between 2.0 and 2.3 may still have the opportunity to transfer in to the BASIT program, but will need to meet with an advisor after applying to and accepted into the BSIT program.

Degree requirements can be found either in the university catalog or in the form of a curriculum sheet. Students may also view requirements and track their progress in a web application called DegreeWorks.
